Borland and Neochange Partner on Software Delivery Transformation

Leading IT management services firm to leverage Borland’s new software delivery management platform to help enterprises better track, measure and improve software delivery processes

Austin, Texas - Jul 14, 2008 : Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ: BORL, www.borland.com), the global leader in Open Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Neochange, the leading management consulting firm in effective IT adoption and business transformations, today announced a partnership whereby Neochange will provide ALM Transformation Management Services using Borland Management Solutions to help customers effectively design, plan and execute complex IT management transformations.

Announced today, Borland® Management Solutions (BMS) is a software delivery management platform that will enable customers to better orchestrate, measure, predict and improve the performance of their software delivery organizations. Leveraging the Borland Open ALM Framework, BMS plugs into a customer’s existing ALM tooling infrastructure, providing an ALM management "cockpit" that gives unprecedented visibility and control over the entire application lifecycle. Borland's mission is to help organizations transform software delivery into a managed business process, and it understands that successful IT transformation involves a combination of people, processes and tools. Neochange works with senior IT leaders to deliver business transformations through effective technology adoption, getting systems in sync with the business demands of changing organizations. Through this partnership, Borland's Management Solutions can accelerate Neochange customers' transformations by providing the cross-process visibility, measurement framework, and business intelligence to support and track the operational improvements an organization achieves through its transition.

"For the past 20 years there have been nominal improvements in software delivery productivity and quality," said Chris Dowse, CEO of Neochange. "What is needed is not another incremental change in the way individual practitioners work, but something that is much more of a breakthrough in the overall operations of complex delivery environments. BMS, with its principles of openness, collaboration, flexibility and measurement can bring about that type of breakthrough. Borland believes that its solutions are a catalyst that, when paired with a people-centric approach to transformation, can drive sustainable organizational change that impact corporate earnings."

Built on Borland's Open ALM Framework, the Borland Management Solutions work with a range of ALM tools and processes to offer complete visibility, process support and interactive dashboards that use real-time and historical ALM data to track and measure software delivery performance.

"Organizational change is not easy. But it is nearly impossible without an accurate, complete understanding of what is really going on in the "black box" that is many software delivery organizations," said Rick Jackson, Borland's senior vice president of corporate strategy and CMO. "Neochange are experts in turning vision and strategies into successful transformation programs. Every other business function has visibility and control over its operations, and now, together Neochange and Borland can help software delivery organizations benefit from that same discipline."

Borland's Management Solutions are expected to be generally available in Fall 2008.
