Tod Nielsen
President and Chief Executive Officer

Tod Nielsen joined Borland Software Corporation in November 2005. Mr. Nielsen brings with him more than 20 years of leadership experience in the enterprise software and application development industries, having held executive level positions at companies such as Microsoft Corporation, BEA Systems and Oracle Corporation. As president and chief executive officer, Mr. Nielsen is responsible for advancing Borland’s vision for Software Delivery Optimization and helping deliver customers the solutions, training and process expertise they need to make software delivery a more manageable and predictable business process.
Mr. Nielsen most recently served as senior vice president, marketing and global sales support for Oracle Corporation, responsible for the marketing of the Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware product lines. Prior to Oracle, Mr. Nielsen was the chief marketing officer and executive vice president of engineering of BEA Systems, where he had overall responsibility for BEA’s worldwide marketing strategy and operations, as well as all research and development operations. Mr. Nielsen joined BEA after the acquisition of his private company, Crossgain Inc., where he served as its chief executive officer.
Mr. Nielsen also spent twelve years with Microsoft Corporation, in various roles, including general manager of database and developer tools, vice president of developer tools, and at the time of his departure, vice president of Microsoft’s platform group. Throughout his tenure with Microsoft, he worked on many parts of the business, with an emphasis on infrastructure and developer oriented technologies.
Mr. Nielsen holds a degree in Business Administration from Central Washington University, and currently is a member of the board of directors for Fortify Software.

Erik Prusch
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Prusch joined Borland Software Corporate in November 2006 as Chief Financial Officer, where he is responsible for all financial operations as well as investor relations activities. He brings to Borland almost 20 years of financial and operational management experience having held executive positions at such leading companies as Intuit, Gateway, PepsiCo and Koch Industries.
Mr. Prusch joined Borland from Intuit Inc. where he was Vice President of Finance for Intuit’s Consumer Tax Group. In that role, he oversaw the financial operations of one of Intuit’s largest revenue and profit generating business units. Before joining Intuit in January 2004, he was Chief Financial Officer for Identix Incorporated, a biometrics technology company. Mr. Prusch was held the positions of Vice President and CFO for Finance and Operations at Gateway Business, a $4 billion division of Gateway Computers, and Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for Koch Industries, the second largest privately held company in the U.S. with sales in excess of $35 billion.
Mr. Prusch holds an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He also holds a BA in Economics from Yale University.

Rick Jackson
Chief Marketing Officer & SVP of Corporate Strategy

Rick Jackson, senior vice president corporate strategy and chief marketing officer, is responsible for Borland’s worldwide marketing activities as well as for driving the company’s growth and market strategies, and business development activities. His charter includes the exploration of new and innovative approaches to Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), with a focus on overcoming common challenges faced by software delivery organizations. Mr. Jackson brings over 20 years of software industry experience to Borland, having held executive-level positions in marketing, engineering, sales and business development. He comes to Borland from BEA Systems where he was senior vice president responsible for worldwide marketing.
Prior to joining BEA, Mr. Jackson worked with various venture capital firms in Silicon Valley as interim CEO and strategic adviser to their portfolio companies. He also served as President and CEO of Privada, a privacy services company for the financial services and health care industries. Previously, Mr. Jackson held executive marketing and business development roles with NetGravity – the pioneer in advertising and direct marketing management solutions for the internet, and mFactory – a multimedia tools company. He has held sales and marketing positions at Taligent, NeXT Computer Inc., and HP, and engineering roles at CADAM Inc., a leading CAD/CAM provider.
Mr. Jackson holds a B.S. degree in computer science from California State University, Northridge. He also is a published author on growth strategies for software companies.

Rich Novak
Senior Vice President of Field Operations

Rich Novak, senior vice president of worldwide field operations, is responsible for the overall direction and management of Borland’s sales efforts, as well as the company’s consulting services, partner alliances and customer support organizations.
Novak has more than 20 years of sales management experience. Previously, Novak served as vice president of worldwide sales and services at Cape Clear. Novak has also most recently held senior sales leadership positions at BMC and Marimba. Before joining Marimba, Novak served as vice president and general manager of Net Perceptions, an e-commerce marketing software and services company. Prior to that, he was vice president of sales at MicroStrategy, a business intelligence software and services company. Novak has also held sales management positions at Tandem Computers and General Electric. Novak holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Southern Illinois University.

Peter Morowski
Senior Vice President of Research and Development

Peter Morowski is the senior vice president of research and development at Borland Software Corporation. In this role, Mr. Morowski is responsible for evolving Borland’s products and technology investments into highly-innovative, next generation Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions that address the company’s vision for Software Delivery Optimization.
Prior to joining Borland, Mr. Morowski served as the vice president of software at Dell Inc. In this role, he was responsible for creating Dell’s first enterprise software organization, where he set product strategy, developed organizational structure and established all internal software practices for the company. Before Dell, he served as vice president and chief technology officer at IBM/Tivoli Systems Inc. At IBM/Tivoli, he was charged with setting technical direction, recommending investment strategies and serving as a technical advisor to the CEO and senior business unit managers.
Mr. Morowski has also held management positions at top companies such as Novell, Inc. where he was vice president and director of development and at Saber Software, Inc. leading up to its acquisition by McAffee Associates. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Gregory Wrenn
Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Gregory J. Wrenn joined Borland in October 2006 as senior vice president and general counsel. In this role, Mr. Wrenn is responsible for the direction and management of Borland’s legal department and all legal matters affecting the company. Mr. Wrenn brings to Borland more than 15 years of legal and corporate governance experience, having held senior management positions at companies such as Openwave Systems, Inc., Yahoo! Inc. and Adobe Systems.
Most recently, Mr. Wrenn served as senior vice president and general counsel at Openwave Systems, responsible for a staff of nearly 30 individuals globally. At Openwave he was responsible for counseling senior management and the board of directors on all legal matters including corporate governance and reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and mergers and acquisitions. Before Openwave, Mr. Wrenn was deputy general counsel, international at Yahoo!, responsible for various international legal matters such as corporate formation and joint ventures, intellectual property protection and risk management. Prior to Yahoo!, he served as senior corporate counsel at Adobe Systems where he was charged with supporting product development and business teams, as well as managing Adobe’s global trademark portfolio and anti-piracy programs.
Mr. Wrenn earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.

Jonathan Schoonmaker
Senior Vice President of Corporate Services

Jonathan Schoonmaker joined Borland Software Corporation in June 2006 as senior vice president of corporate services. In this role, Mr. Schoonmaker is responsible for global human resources, information technology, facilities and real estate.
Mr. Schoonmaker brings more than 20 years experience in consulting, developing and implementing initiatives aimed at improving the effectiveness of the workforce. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of human resources at Business Objects where he played an integral role in expanding the business from an organization with annual revenue under $500 million to over $1 billion. As corporate vice president of human resources at electronics design leader Cadence, he also helped grow their business into a billion dollar company as well. Additionally, Mr. Schoonmaker has held managerial positions in human resources with Blue Chip companies Philips Electronics and GE.
Mr. Schoonmaker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communications from Ohio University and is on the board of advisors for appMail.
